What we Require

  • Undertake all duties as identified for a groundworker.
  • Responsible for all day to day on site organisation/management.
  • Interpret construction plans and quantify materials.
  • Organising timesheets from employees/CIS.
  • Assisting with project costing when required to do so.
  • Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans.
  • Produce schedules and monitor site attendance.
  • Allocate general and daily responsibilities.
  • Supervise and train workers and trades as appropriate.
  • Ensure manpower and resources are adequate.
  • Ensure all safety, environmental precautions and quality standards are met on site including;
    • Ensuring that Risk, Method statements and permits relevant to all construction activities are produced, completed, communicated, understood, signed for and updated to reflect any site specific requirements and or changes to construction tasks and associated hazards/risks.
    • Set a personal example on all matters of health and safety.
  • Supervise the use of machinery and equipment, ensuring use by competent operators only.
  • Assist in monitoring expenditure for site materials and construction equipment ensuring a budget conscious approach is maintained.
  • Provide regular updates/reports on progress to STP Developers management.
  • Be proactive and resolve problems/challenges whenever they arise and where it is appropriate to do so. (Solutions orientated not problems)
  • To assist in providing feedback on performance for any operatives that have been under your supervision

What we Expect

Demonstrate through delivery of projects, extensive knowledge of all aspects of groundworks including civils, commercial and residential.

  • Responsible for undertaking a wide variety of practical tasks to assist groundworkers etc. including but not exclusive to;
    • Trench digs.
    • Concrete, mixing and installation.
    • Operating machinery/construction site vehicles, and other site equipment (e.g. Mixers, drills, breakers, pumps)
    • Moving, loading and unloading equipment and materials.
  • Responsible for health, safety and wellbeing of self and others whilst on site. Ensure compliance with all practices, procedures and controls relevant to health, safety and wellbeing in accordance with legislation and company policy.
  • Responsible for keeping construction sites tidy at all times.
  • Responsible for looking after all tools and equipment on site.
  • CSCS card desirable.
  • Can work unsupervised on tasks with little to no supervision.
